Legado Releases Next Generation Digital End-of-Life Planning Tools
Legado has released new end-of-life guidance tools to its web-based platform:
- Created with advice from later life charities, hospices and end-of-life planning professionals;
- Available for free to charities; assists with legacy giving and income generation;
- Features include sharing after death and customisable guided journeys.
Legado, the UK’s leading digital platform for life planning, has announced the release of a new suite of dedicated end-of-life digital planning tools. The web-based platform has been designed to help users in organising their most important documents, information and wishes, with these new features focused on end-of-life care and plans.
This new functionality simplifies the process for everyday people who might not know how to begin thinking about the decisions associated with end-of-life planning. Finding clear ways to communicate these decisions is more essential than ever.
The functionality has been curated by leading experts to ensure it covers the most pressing questions family members would need to know about their loved ones. Everything is explained in simple, easy-to-understand terms and users are guided through different planning areas to ensure they have everything in place.
The digital application offers individuals an alternative to paper-based planning, with an ability to create and share planning decisions quickly and securely.
“Most people don’t want to think about death at all,” said Claire Henry, MBE, and Director of Claire Henry Associates, who has worked in the end-of-life space for over thirty years.
“However, answering these questions is an important step toward ensuring that your wishes are carried out when the time comes for end-of-life care. If you don’t think about these things, and you are not able to consider them or communicate your wishes – when something unexpected happens to your health which nobody can anticipate – then it can be impossible, or at least very difficult, to make sure that your wishes are carried out. This entire process will go a long way toward not only helping individuals, but their friends and families, prepare for death, and I am proud to have been able to contribute to it.”
“We see the problems that come from lack of planning all the time,” said John Knight, CEO of LOROS Hospice, a charitable organisation Legado has been working closely with. “Planning for end-of-life care is not always pleasant, but for people who do make these plans and have these discussions, we find that their lives, and their families lives, are improved when the time comes.”
Josif Grace, CEO of Legado, said: “Life is increasingly complex, with many of us having dozens of relationships and accounts across banks, insurers, utilities providers and individuals. Legado is a simple solution to bring clarity to this complexity, helping organisations and charities to simplify their exchanges with customers and helping customers gain the peace of mind that they won’t be leaving a messy estate for their families.”
Legado was launched in 2018 to help consumers plan for key life moments and events, such as the end-of-life, and has gained significant traction with backing from major financial services firm, M&G and technology provider, FNZ.
