Legado Acceptable Use Policy – Digital Vault
Legado is committed to providing a secure and high-quality experience for all users of our Digital Vault product. To ensure fair and consistent use across all clients, this Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out our expectations for how the Digital Vault may be used by end-users where upload and sharing features have been enabled.
This Policy applies to all users of the Digital Vault. Legado may amend this Policy at its discretion by posting an updated version at www.joinlegado.com/acceptable-use-policy. Updates will be effective upon posting.
OUR TERMS
Legado is committed to providing a secure and high-quality experience for all users of our Digital Vault product. To ensure fair and consistent use across all clients, this Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out our expectations for how the Digital Vault may be used by end-users where upload and sharing features have been enabled.
1. Upload Limits
Each Digital Vault is subject to the following storage usage rules:
- End-users are permitted to upload and store up to 10GB of total content.
- The 10GB limit is calculated based on the cumulative total of all files currently stored within a user’s Vault.
- Deleting files from the Vault reduces the total stored amount and may allow additional uploads.
- If a user attempts to upload beyond this threshold, the upload may be blocked, or the user may receive a notification directing them to contact their service provider.
2. Enterprise Notifications & Charges
- When an end-user approaches the 10GB limit, threshold notifications will be triggered and sent to the enterprise client managing that user relationship.
- Should storage exceed 10GB, Legado will apply additional charges based on the pre-agreed pricing terms set out in the enterprise agreement.
- It is the responsibility of the enterprise client to communicate any additional terms or costs to their end-users.
3. Acceptable Vault Content and Behaviour
Legado’s Digital Vault is intended solely for personal and lawful use. Users must not:
- Use the Vault for illegal activities, including storing prohibited, unlawful, or infringing content.
- Use the Vault for mass storage of unrelated or non-personal files, such as commercial media distribution or as a backup service.
- Attempt to bypass storage limits through technical workarounds or the creation of multiple accounts.
- Share Vault access with others; each user must have a unique, named account.
- Use automation tools or APIs to upload or manage files unless explicitly enabled by the enterprise provider.
4. External Sharing
Where sharing is enabled, users may securely share files from their Vault with third parties. However:
- Sharing must be for legitimate personal or professional use.
- Users must not use the sharing feature to broadly distribute content to large or unknown audiences.
- The shared content remains subject to the same total storage limits outlined above.
5. System Integrity
To protect system performance and security for all users:
- Uploading malicious content or engaging in behaviour that could damage or compromise the platform is strictly prohibited.
- Users must not engage in penetration testing or security scanning without prior written consent from Legado.
Enforcement and Support
Failure to comply with this Policy may result in the suspension or restriction of the user’s access to the Digital Vault. Legado reserves the right to enforce limits, notify enterprise clients of violations, and take appropriate action as per our contractual terms.
If you believe your usage complies with this Policy but have received a warning or upload restriction, please contact Legado Support or your service provider for assistance.
