Legado, a new life organisation and legacy planning platform backed by Prudential and FNZ, has announced that it will offer its service free of charge to charities.
The online digital experience allows individuals to manage and store important documents, files, wishes and memories throughout life, but also provides a legacy planning tool for those reaching the end of their life. It helps users to organise the necessary paperwork needed to get their affairs in order, but also document all wishes and preferences for once they have died. This information is stored in one secure online location, which can be accessed by selected family members or loved ones.
Charities working in the bereavement space will also have the opportunity to co-brand the platform, personalising the easy-to-use dashboard to their user’s needs.
Josif Grace, founder of Legado said: “Life organisation and legacy planning is something that can fill many with dread. While it is understandably a sensitive subject and strenuous task, it’s important that services like ours make it as easy as possible for people to prepare have all of their affairs in order for when they are no longer alive.
“So often we hear of families spending time during an already difficult period searching for necessary documents belonging to their family member after they pass away, and its our aim to minimise this by providing an easy to use digital experience in which to store everything.
“Our platform is not just for legal and financial documentation, it also provides a place to note key information, preferences or wishes, such as the fate of pets, pin codes or passwords to social media.”
Earlier this year, Legado received significant financial backing of more than £600,000 from savings and investments business, Prudential and global platform-as-a-service firm, FNZ. All information stored within Legado is protected by ‘bank-grade’ security – one of the highest levels of encryption, with users required to follow a two-factor authentication process to gain entry to their digital vault.
Grace continued: “We’re keen to offer this service free to charities, and by co-branding the platform and using dedicated features, it encourages individuals to consider the charity in their legacy giving.”
